Pomerol
A jewel of identity
Pomerol occupies a mythical place in the imagination of oenophiles. It escapes any official classification, which adds an undeniable element of mystery to it.
Although an unofficial classification does exist, it is based on the quality and rarity of its wines.
Château Sainte Marie is deeply rooted in this PDO of less than 800 hectares, with its glorious past and its association with some of the most prestigious wines in the world.
Julien, a young winemaker with a human-sized cellar and vines, is carrying out his low-key revolution with typical Pomerol discretion.

“I love the human dimension of my winery and vines. They are perfectly suited for making a great and unique terroir wine.”
Julien Bidou
The avant-garde at the service of the exceptional
Newcomer Julien wants to take advantage of this environment to produce great wines while cultivating the difference.
He is convinced that the great Pomerol terroir produces grapes that need to be supported, not rushed, and that each barrel, tuns or amphorae will ultimately illuminate the wine.
A Pomerol in the age of renewal
A secret, intimate cellar at the end of a dirt track sets the tone.
This cellar, with its anthracite grey walls and warm elegant materials combining wood and glass, is a radical departure from the usual features of this illustrious centuries-old AOP.
A major and impressive room containing around sixty barrels from the best French cooperages, tuns and amphorae, hints at a great inclination towards research and development.
